As a direct result of my experience driving trucks on a part-time basis over the last decade, I have reached the conclusion that most executives within the haulage sector failed to take the safety of other road users seriously enough.  Specifically, there are too many examples of where the person sat behind the wheel of a 44 ton missile is a liability. 

Two often executives involved in the industry are more concerned about ticking boxes and transferring the blame for accidents on to overworked and poorly motivated HGV drivers. 

The solution for reducing HGV related fatalities is to better educate the executives FIRST.
